Menicon Co., Ltd, a global contact lens manufacturer, announced the celebration of its 75th anniversary in February 2026 and advised that it will implement various initiatives over the one-year period from February 8, 2026 to February 5, 2027. Menicon is currently celebrating its 75th anniversary, a milestone traced back to February 8, 1951, when founder Kyoichi Tanaka first commercialized a corneal contact lens, the company said. While Menicon noted that it has traditionally honored each 25-year milestone, it is now viewing this 75th year and the quarter-century ahead as a critical period of transformation.

As it looks toward its centennial, Menicon said it remains dedicated to challenging global boundaries and uncovering new possibilities in an evolving marketplace.

To bolster its supply capacity, Menicon established a new plant in Malaysia, celebrating its official opening on February 5, 2026. This facility represents a vital advancement in enhancing the company’s international production network. By delivering high-quality visual correction to a global customer base, this initiative is expected to play a key role in driving Menicon’s continued expansion across the globe, the announcement said.
