RevolutionEHR, a leading cloud-based electronic health record (EHR) and practice management platform for optometry, has announced a new integration with Dr. Contact Lens, a prescription management platform focused on helping practices retain more contact lens revenue while improving patient compliance. By securely connecting patient demographics and contact lens prescription data within RevolutionEHR, Dr. Contact Lens will deliver a better patient experience, reduced staff workload and increased contact lens revenue by an average of 38 percent, the announcement said.

Dr. Contact Lens enables proactive, practice-branded outreach that makes it easier for patients to reorder their lenses directly from the office, keeping revenue in-house and eliminating reliance on third-party retailers, the announcement noted.

Brianna Rhue, OD, co-founder and CEO of Dr. Contact Lens and owner of West Broward Eyecare Associates in Tamarac, Fla., stated that the integration will improve workflow, an important component of patient care. “It will help doctors compete against online retailers and win by connecting [patients] back to practices,” she said.

A recent case study with Florida-based St. Johns Eye Associates (SJEA) identified the immediate and measurable impact of using the Dr. Contact Lens integration, reporting a 98 percent increase in contact lens revenue, the announcement said. The study revealed that SJEA generated $10,000 in orders within the first few hours, all without adding a single new patient.

“Dr. Contact Lens completely transformed how we operate,” said Sharok Kapadia, OD, owner of St. Johns Eye Associates. “It automated the busywork that used to bog my team down, refocused our energy on patient care, and gave our patients the freedom to order their contacts from our office 24/7. The growth without having to see another patient is tangible.”

The integration eliminates disconnected systems and manual processes, giving practices a smarter, more scalable way to manage their contact lens business.

Beyond the technology, Dr. Contact Lens stated the company supports practices with a high-touch onboarding experience and dedicated relationship managers. From initial setup through ongoing optimization, practices are guided every step of the way to ensure long-term success, the announcement said.

With RevolutionEHR and Dr. Contact Lens, practices can unlock meaningful growth without adding complexity, and capture more revenue from existing patients while delivering a more convenient, connected experience, the announcement said.

The Dr. Contact Lens integration is available to RevolutionEHR customers nationwide.
